This morning I saw the first red squirrel for the season. We havent had any in the garden for ages, so I was really pleased to see this one. I tried to get a photo, but my phone wouldn't pick it up through the window. However, I have some from last summer, so if I can get them from photobucket to here, I will show them to you now!
Oi! The squirrles! Never really had an issue with them, but I remember one summer my mom did, and she was at war with them. She would sit on the porch and douse them with the water hose when they would come to the porch or the bird feeder! Too funny. Not sure who won the war though!
ReplyDeleteThey sound like grey squirrels to me, they are so bold!!! Reds are far more timid and shy, so it is a real privelege to have them in my garden!
ReplyDeleteThis area is one of the few places in Britain where Red Squirrels are still surviving, the greys have taken over everywhere else, they carry a pox virus which they have an immunity to, but the reds have never built up the immunity and it kills them.
